• It is impossible to separate the Domain of Poulvarel from Elizabeth and Pascal Glas. And for good reason, in 2004, while Pascal worked in wineries for 25 years, they decided to create their private cellar on family land.
What might have seemed like a crazy bet at this point, is now a well taken gamble. The vintages of the Domain are amongst the "winner" wines of the region and are "noticed" by the specialized press. Pascal has passed his love of wine to Elizabeth and together they had the audacity to start this and the will to continue. They were able to unite their strengths, their differences, their expertise and now offer wines worthy of the best restaurants.
HISTORICAL CELLAR OF THE XXIST CENTURY
• Building with modern geometry, designed with Pont du Gard stones and a modern and insulating framing. The combination of materials used was studied to obtain an optimal temperature for ageing and conservation.
GEOGRAPHICAL POSITION
• Sernhac is an ancient Saracen village, the most northerly of the Costières de Nîmes and very close to the Pont du Gard (Gard Bridge). Rich in history, Sernhac is crossed by the remains of the Roman aqueduct, of which two famous tunnels, "Perrotta" and "Cantarelles", remain today. By including these names in our prestige vintages, we are including a bit of our history that travels through our wines beyond our land.
